Specialists in water treatment know that carry-over of filtering material from the filter leads not only to the loss of expensive filter media, but also to the failure of the boiler and other equipment the material gets into (deaerator, decarbonizer, other filters). Trap filters for granular materials can help prevent losses of filtering medium.

Trap filter prevents filtering material from getting into the processing line in case of emergency related to the failure of the drainage and distribution system.

Retained filtering media can be taken out and returned back to the filter.

Trap filters for granular materials are designed to catch filter medium that carry-over from the filter due to possible defects of the drainage system or grinding of the filtering media. They are used in water treatment schemes at thermal and nuclear power plants, industrial and heating boilers, as well as in condensate purification systems.

Trap filter for granular materials consists of a cylindrical steel housing and filtering elements coaxial with the housing.

The trap filter housing is a cylindrical vessel with inlet and outlet pipes. The cylindrical housing has an inspection window, air outlet and drainage outlet. The housing can be made of both stainless and carbon steel.

Filtering elements are a wire-frame structure "TEKO-SLOT", consisting of a triangular profile wire, which is spirally wound around lengthwise support rods (supporting profiles) and welded to them at the points of contact. The simple and reliable design of the filtering element has the following advantages: non-clogging, low hydraulic resistance; high rigidity and mechanical strength. The width of the slots between the triangular wire loops is constant and can be from 0.05 to 2 mm. Filtering elements are made of stainless steel.

Operation principle of the trap filter: water under pressure enters the front part of it, passes through the filtering elements and is discharged from the trap filter. The filtering material (ion-exchange resin, sand, coal, etc.) is retained on the filtering element, which is subsequently washed by a reverse current of water.

The capacity of commercially produced trap filters (FL) "TEKO-FILTER" is from 10 to 1000 m3 / hour.

Trap filter can be mounted on both horizontal and vertical sections of the pipeline.
