Filter traps will help to avoid negative effects of the ion-exchange resin entering the heat-power equipment and mixing of various resins (cation and anion exchange resins) that may occur unnoticed by the maintenance staff.
Filter traps prevent the filter material from entering the process pipeline if an unpredictable failure of the drainage distribution assembly occurs.
The retained filter material then can be taken out and returned to the filter.
Filter traps for retaining of granular solids are designed for trapping the filter material particles to prevent its carry away from the filter as a result of possible failures of drainage system or crushing of the filter bed. These filters are used in the water-treatment systems of heat and nuclear power plants, boiler plants, as well as in the condensate-treatment facilities.
A filter trap consists of a cylindrical steel vessel and filtering elements which are coaxial with the filter's vessel.
The filter has a cylindrical vessel with inlet and outlet pipes. The vessel is fitted with an inspection window, air valve nipple and a vent outlet. The filter's vessel is made either of stainless steel or carbon steel.
A filtering element has "TEKO-SLOT" wire-wound frame consisting of a V-shape wire spirally wound around the lengthwise supporting bars (structural profiles) and welded to them in all points of intersection. Simple and robust structure of the filtering element provides for the following benefits: non-clogging, low hydraulic friction, high rigidity and mechanical strength. The slots' width between the wire loops is constant and ranges within 0.05-2 mm. The filtering elements are made of stainless steel.
The filter trap operation principle: already treated pressurized water is fed into the trap's front part, passes through the filtering elements and then is drained from the filter trap. The filtering material (ion-exchange resin, sand, charcoal and etc.) is retained in the filtering element, which is subsequently backwashed.
The filter traps produced by "TEKO-FILTER" company have a filtration capacity from 10 to 1000 m3/h.
It can be mounted either in horizontal or vertical pipeline sections.
